Escape Routes

Our most recent group exhibition showcased new works by Suzanne Moxhay, Robbie Fife, Kemi Onabule, Siphiwe Mnguni, Katherine Jones, Joseph Goody, Alice Macdonald and R&F Mo presented in a south east London home as part of the Dulwich Artists Open House festival.

Including ceramics, drawings, paintings, monotypes and limited edition prints, the diverse range of works all shared a common pursuit; that of exploration. The artists - who range from newly emerging to established - each approached this theme in distinctive ways. Whether mapping unchartered territories, meandering through fantastical landscapes, re-imagining history or navigating the notion of identity, all of the exhibitors works evoked a sense of curiosity, discovery and escapism.

Presenting an exhibition in a typical Victorian family home lent the show a certain intimacy despite the large scale of some of the works. Children’s toys, flowers from the garden and the contrast between new and original architecture all played a part in making ‘Escape Routes’ unique.

This is the third group exhibition that has been presented at 19 Ivanhoe Road. A number of works are still available for sale.
